Fixing #Christmas lights and thinking of John 1:5 on a cool winter evening

The light shines through the darkness, and the darkness cannot extinguish it - John 1:5

This means that the darkness of evil never has and never will overcome GOD's light

#ArtofSocial My review of The Art of Social Media by @GuyKawasaki and @PegFitzpatrick

The Quintessential Guide to all Things Social Media

Whether you are a housewife, pastor, enterprise marketer, business owner, student or individual user, chances are you use a social network. And the social interactions we have where we create, share and exchange ideas, pictures and videos is what we call social media. If you want to rock social media, then look no further.  The Art of Social Media is a no nonsense guide portraying valuable first hand knowledge from the trenches, by Guy Kawasaki and Peg Fitzpatrick, and written by Guy.

The book starts by showing you how to present yourself with a visually acceptable public profile, then goes on to describe content creation, curation and the best practices of sharing across different social media channels. Talk about helping a socialist out, Guy and Peg have redefined what it means to be a socialist. I loved the example where Guy posts a picture of the Audi A3 odometer and how it generated 500,000 views in 5 days!

Learn how to be bold, brief and add true value to posts. I didn't know there were so many tools and sites to monitor, manage and monetize the social web till I read this book. Any day I'd take advice from someone like Guy who has 6.7 million followers on Google Plus and 1.5 million followers on Twitter. He even tells you how to manage your online attitude.
On the subject of integrating social media and blogging, learn How to "Peg" your posts from Peg.  She is a true marketing pro, and a social innovator.
And finally, for those who are constantly trying to get more followers (for whatever reason), I recommend reading Chapter 10. I agree with Guy when he says "Only losers and charlatans buy followers, likes and +1s"
I read this book from start to finish in a couple of hours, and enjoyed every line of it. If you are a newcomer to the world of social media, there is a cool List of Apps and Services at the end of the book which is a very handy reference guide. And the online version of the book has URLs to the actual websites.
To summarize, no two social media enthusiasts could better complement each other in experience, style and knowledge, than Guy and Peg, and write such a functional manual as The Art of Social Media

#Baking Just out of the oven ... who wants hot muffins? ☺

On a cold night like this, couldn't resist the aroma of baking!

I'm not much of a baker, as you can see from the muffins, so please don't ask how I made them,
(They have raisins, walnuts, golden brown sugar, banana, milk, eggs, flour and lots of love!)
All I know is, everyone likes it

And if I can bake them, anyone can bake them

Good night

#Ownership This is HIS car, I'm just a chosen driver ☺

Truth is ... nothing belongs to me, everything is HIS, including me

The earth is the LORD's, and everything in it,
the world, and all who live in it; - Psalm 24:1

#Broiling #Cooking If you are within driving distance, you are invited for dinner ☺

Pork back ribs

Broccoli and Oyster Mushrooms

Have a good evening, friends

#Business #SocialMedia If you don't want your #marketing material to be trashed, connect online and engage in a conversation ☺

Whether it is tires, hamburgers, real estate, fitness or furniture you want me to buy,
Please don't waste paper, printing and postage, sending me these,
Because nobody in my household reads them, ever (even if it is personalized and has my name on it)
They just end up in the recycle bin

Instead, connect online (Twitter, LinkedIn etc) and engage in a conversation,
I just might buy from you then!
Have a good weekend friends

#Winter #TrafficSafety Snow does not cause accidents ...

... impatient people do

Don't blame the weather.
Blame impatience, driving style and stupidity

Remember even the worst snow tire is better than the best all season tire, in winter!

#Mission My job is to #trust and obey ...

... and my mission (easier said than done) is to:

Encourage those who discourage,
Help those who will not help,
Give to those who cannot give,
Share with those who will not share,
Smile for those who won't smile
Love you all!

#Lamborghini "One day I had a bit of an argument with my friend Enzo Ferrari ..."

... who reckoned I wasn’t able to drive a Ferrari, only tractors.
That’s when I got the idea into my head and told myself – I’ll make the cars myself from now on!"

#Grace #Gratitude I don't deserve anything, and GOD doesn't owe me anything

Sincerely grateful to GOD for
and relationships,
 (none of which I deserve)
Whatever I have, HE gave, and HE owns

Without HIM, I am nothing

Thank you for who you are!

#Cooking two dishes at the same time

When the flu season starts, I cook more and we eat out less.
That's how I can make sure we eat healthy
The health benefits of onions, garlic, turmeric, fenugreek and many other spices have proved to be  amazing in the past

Both dishes below have similar base spices but the one on the left, beans, has tomato and lots of onions, whereas the one on the right, chicken curry, has turmeric.
Both dishes have garlic, ginger, cloves, fennel, green cardamom, cinnamon, fenugreek, star anise, salt and lots of love!

I'll tell you the benefits of all the spices, but for now let me focus on cooking
Oh btw, did you know for example that star anise is the main ingredient in the anti-flu drug Tamiflu?

Hence the red and yellow colours

Whatever you eat, eat healthy, and enjoy your food!
