Cooking Goat Curry

Although it is considered a red meat, goat meat has less fat and cholesterol than lamb or beef.
So it is healthier.
We used to eat goat meat in Africa and Asia, but it is quite uncommon in North America.
This is one way I cook a goat curry.
Grind fresh cloves, cinnamon, star anise, black pepper, green and black cardamom and fennel seeds.

In a pressure cooker, fry a couple of onions,
and add a paste of garlic and ginger when the onions are light brown. Add a little red chilli powder.

Add the powdered spices in, along with some salt and stir for a minute or two.

Add the meat (which was already cut into small cubes, washed and drained)

Keep stirring occasionally to prevent the meat and spices from sticking to the pot.
Add a tablespoon of vinegar. Shut and cook till you hear three whistles on the pressure cooker!
Open, if the meat is cooked, add potatoes - they go so well with meat. Shut and cook till another whistle. Turn off, and leave the pressure cooker shut for about 15-20 minutes before serving.

This curry will taste better the second day, and the following day, and will last for a week if refrigerated.

It's that time of the year when the birds do their home inspection!

Last year around the same time, same neighbourhood, but on a different street ...

Ok squirrels, that's the last time you're getting any sunflower seeds from the bird feeder!

Got tired of chasing squirrels from the bird feeder, so got a new, smart bird feeder!

Now I can feed the finches, juncos, grosbeaks, woodpeckers, nuthatches, chickadees, sparrows & cardinals
while preventing grackles and squirrels from taking over!

"You don't like me any more?"

Join the sparrows and eat the seeds on the ground, no bird feeder for you

"Oh, ... well"

Happy to see you again my dear duck!
How was winter?

Happy Sunday!

Is anyone else barbecuing tonight?

The falling snowflakes make a sizzling sound as they land on the hot grill of the winter BBQ.
Brrr! ... It's -22°

Winter is the best time to be around the barbecue!

Anyone coming for a walk?

Anyone coming for a walk?
No.
Why?
It feels like -23° C outside

The Nuthatch is a little bundle of activity and joy on this cold winter afternoon!

"For I am Yours and You are mine" - Taya Smith

"So I will call upon Your name
And keep my eyes above the waves
When oceans rise
My soul will rest in Your embrace
For I am Yours and You are mine"

Replacing the right side daytime running light bulb in the Audi A4

This is for car models which have regular bulbs, not LED lights.
(Replacing the bulb on the left side will require removing the air intake housing, it's easy)

The right side bulb is the easiest to replace, and no tools are required to do this.
(except a flashlight I needed because I did this in the dark)

(Picture below shows the light with the bulb already removed)

Open the hood, locate this piece that's just behind the light bulb, press the top down,
release and remove it

Locate the bulb holder and twist anti-clockwise, release it and remove the bulb

The old and the new

The headlight with the DRL/parking light bulb removed

Replace with a new bulb by only touching the bulb with gloves or a dry piece of cloth

The light is fine now!

Total cost of 2 bulbs (of which I only needed 1) is $6.77

I just realized now that it's the exact same bulb model for the brake lights in the Audi A3 & A4, as it is for the daytime running light in the Audi A4
