Making a leather lens hood cover and strap

Couldn't find a leather cover to protect the Nikon P1000,

Especially the lens hood from being scratched with all the outdoor photography.

So i made one.

This is a cover i managed to find for the 150-600 lens

But it attracts too much attention especially when you are on a hike

(And i don't like people commenting 😀)

I have a rain cover for photography in the rain

But for regular use, when you keep placing the camera down outdoors,

The lens hood can get scratched.

This leather cover i'm making is kind of permanent

And i have no reason to remove it

I also want to cover the yellow on the strap.

It attracts too much attention and the birds surely don't care what brand of camera i use 😉

Here's the final product

You know it's early spring when the sparrows start building their homes

Here they are thinking of where, how and when

The next door neighbour has already settled in

Female on the ground floor

Male a few days earlier building the ground floor

And now we have an occupant on the second floor!

The penthouse apartment is still unoccupied as of today

Here's another nest box on the rear of this building
(video taken last year, no audio)

Happy Spring!
