A pair of Robins checking out the new nest box

What can be more exciting than a pair of robins checking out the new nest box I made?

I converted an old bird feeder into a nest box, and placed it up high close to the roof so that it is safe from raccoons, skunks, opossums, and neighbours cats

And here are a pair of robins carefully checking it out from all angles!

Reminds me of how people sit on sofas in furniture stores, just to check out comfort ☺

Robins have built nests every year in the backyard

Whether they will decide to use this nest box as their home, GOD only knows

Next step is to see how I can use my old mobile phone (a Nokia N8 with a 12 megapixel Carl Zeiss camera) to transmit videos from the nest. I've painted it matte black, didn't like the bright silver  

Hoping the birds decide to stay!

#Wildlife Blue Racer Swallowing a Frog

Didn't have a decent camera in those days ... but I still love the Nokia for its GPS

While hiking on Pelee Island (a few years ago), we heard a rustle in the leaves beside our trail ...

And saw this Blue Racer swallowing a frog 

Not sure if it was a Blanchard's Cricket Frog

The Blue Racer is non-venomous and is facing extinction. 

In Canada it is only found on Pelee Island.

#Troubleshooting an old wireless Cisco security camera

The camera suddenly stopped working and I am unable to determine what the problem is ☺

Was easy to remove the outer case

Removed three small screws to get the circuit board off from the case

The microphone (with the red and black wires) comes off easily too

So does the Wi-Fi unit which is fixed on a PCI slot.

All looks fine and there is power supply too.

But the problem is ... trying to find out where the problem is

The overripe bananas convinced me to bake Weetabix, cranberry, golden brown sugar muffins

Because I don't like wasting food ☺

With a fork, beat two eggs, 3/4 cups of milk, 2 overripe bananas, 1/2 cup olive oil, a cup of golden brown sugar (if you don't have a sweet tooth like me, just add 1/2 cup) and add 2 cups of flour, a table spoon of baking powder, 1/2 teaspoon of salt, 2 rectangles of broken up Weetabix, 1/2 cup dried cranberries, 1/2 cup broken up walnuts, and add the mixture to a tray

Bake at 400 degrees F 

Till your home has this lovely aroma of freshly baked muffins (usually about 23 minutes)

The muffins came off the tray so easily. 

This is why I like the older baking trays better than the new ones. 

They stick less!

Muffins are the easiest thing to experiment with in the kitchen
