Monday 20 July 2020

From the way it is playfully hopping and leaping around, I can tell this is one happy rabbit!

Looks like it has grown in the past few weeks

I'm intentionally leaving the grass long in certain areas

It keeps the rabbit happy
😊

Of bees, wasps and a hummingbird

The wasps & bees have discovered that there's something sweet here!

This tiny hummingbird consumes more sugar in a day,
than i do in two weeks!

The wasps & bees have to wait for their turn ....

Love the way the hummingbird flies backwards to take a look before drinking!

Had enough for now ...
Will be back in twenty minutes

Funny story - long ago, before we moved into the neighbourhood
Someone told us this was a 'wasp' neighbourhood.
I was new to the culture and didn't know what they meant.
So i asked, "what's a wasp neighbourhood?"
😄

Capturing a falling drop of nectar

For whatever reason, this new hummingbird feeder keeps leaking drops of nectar

One drop every 30 seconds, and so I'm sticking to the old one

Where there is tasty food, guests will appear!

This is a baby rabbit.
Our newest guest.

Same one that fell in the pool by accident several weeks ago
Which i rescued

It looks big in the photo, but it's smaller than a squirrel

It is very happy & relaxed here

We decided not to pull out the weeds in some areas,
Just to leave the leaves for the baby rabbit!

And now, I don't feel like cutting the grass short because ...

The rabbit loves it!

Hiking at Hardy Lake, Muskoka - Oil Painting on canvas

I know it's still summer,
But I'm in the mood to do an old autumn scene from Hardy Lake, Muskoka
Where we went on a family day hike many years ago.

The last time i did a similar painting,
Friends took it away!
And my wife insisted i do another one
😉

These are just some of the shades of crimson, orange & red for the leaves
