#Tradition With my mom #cooking red fish curry the way her mom would have cooked it

Ingredients: Tamarind, curry leaves, red chilly powder, ginger, garlic, salt and fenugreek powder
(Come home and I'll show you how to cook it)

Kingfish

My grandmother used a clay pot, but I understand Lead is used in the manufacture of clay pots

There is something special, that money can't buy, when the art of cooking is passed down generations
(It is the kind of stuff you'll never learn in any cooking school)

♪ Merry month of May sunny skies of blue and it's time for some Tony Bennett

"Merry month of May sunny skies of blue
Clouds have rolled away and the sun peeps through
May express
Happiness
Joy you may define in a thousand ways"

Feels like 32°C ... Painting tires, washing wheels, what a nice day to go for a spin ☺

Many strangers in fancy sports cars have stopped by on the street to ask me if these tires were stock. This post is for you if you want to know how I painted the tires

These are the winter tires about a month ago

This is how I paint them

I can paint your tires if you like (free if you bring your Porsche or Lamborghini)

No car wash can clean wheels as well as a good hand wash ...

Drive safe, whatever you drive ☺

#Art #Light Made a lamp out of broken birch branches

Made a lamp out of birch branches that fell during the last winter storm

Testing it outdoors ...

And indoors too.

It took a while for the paint on the lampshade to dry up

Also framed a painting with some of the branches

Wondering what to do with the rest of the branches

#Rejoice Rose-breasted Grosbeak and what it looks like to live out Psalm 118:24 ☼

What a lovely day!
Dew drops glittering like little diamonds on the grass

This is our newest visitor - the Rose-breasted Grosbeak!

This is the day that the LORD has made, let us rejoice and be glad in it - Psalm 118:24

You're gonna rise up singing
Yes you'll spread your wings
And you'll take to the skies"

#Gardening into the night

What a pleasant evening!

It's actually dark but this phone can take pretty good pictures in low light without a flash

#Wildlife This always happens when I don't take the camera with me ☺

Just before sunset, went for an evening walk with my friend.
Saw a nice big coyote less than 20 feet away!
Looked healthy and strong with a grayish-brown coat.
It stopped, stared at us for a few seconds and slowly moved away into the tall brown grass.
We invariably see wildlife, when I don't take my camera on a walk

If you are reading this, I don't want to let you down with no photographs, so here are some pictures of a coyote we saw at Yellowstone National Park

#Painting a Lampshade

Made a lamp out of birch branches that fell during the winter storm

The lampshade has to dry before I can fix it to the lamp ...

Meanwhile here is a frame for a painting using some of the branches

#Poetry The Cardinal's Call

The Cardinal's Call

T'was that time of day just after sunset
When among the birch branches, the cool evening breeze met the Cardinal's call
As if to warn off intruders or maybe change the Blackbird's mindset
Oh, how sweet a song amidst the background sounds of urban sprawl

#Trust & #Loyalty Welcome back! The ducks have arrived in the backyard ☺

What a joy

Every year they come here, spend a good deal of time, eat, swim, laze around and provide us joy. My job is to make sure I don't get in their way. After all, they own this land, not I.

When they trust, they come back for more!
