Replacing the right brake light bulb in the #Audi A4

The last time I replaced a brake light bulb in the A4 it was on the left side in March 2011

Now the right side brake light bulb has failed ...
The steps are the same as in the earlier post for the left side

It's freezing outside and feels like -18° C, so I've got to do this quickly
Open the boot (called a trunk in North America) and pry open the portion shown below adjacent to the light

Use a flat blade screwdriver gently loosen, and remove the screw with your fingers

On the left side is the screw we just removed, in the centre is a new bulb, and on the right is a flat blade screwdriver which is the only tool required

Gently remove the rear light assembly by sliding it out of the two slots (do it with both hands if you don't have to take photographs like I'm doing here)

The white and the dark grey portions shown below need to be separated to access the bulb(s)

Gently lift and slide the tabs on either side to separate

By now my fingers are beginning to freeze .... but I'd never wear gloves to do this

Slide and separate the grey part from the white to reveal the bulbs

Get someone to turn on the ignition and check the brake lights if you want to make sure you're replacing the right bulb

Twist, remove and replace the bulb (the top right one shown below)

Check the bulb before fixing everything back

Remember to gently slide the assembly back into these two circular slots shown below
