Just as I was focusing on the bees and the wasps on the bird feeder ...

... I hear this whirring sound very close to me,
and out of the blue appears this tiny, beautiful iridescent green hummingbird!

Not sure if it is a Black-chinned or a juvenile male or female Ruby-throated hummingbird.

Many hours later in the evening ...

This hummingbird has consumed more sugar today, than I have all week!

Plane Spotting at Toronto Pearson International Airport

Plane spotting has been a childhood hobby of mine although I never had a camera in those days.
Still remember flying BOAC (before it was called British Airways)

Took some photographs today, all hand-held.

Air Canada and British Airways taxiing to runway 23 for takeoff

Air Canada C-GBZR Boeing 767 Flight AC739 to San Francisco getting ready for takeoff on
runway 23

British Airways G-CIVT Boeing 747-400 Flight BA92 to London Heathrow getting ready for takeoff on runway 23

WestJet C-GWBL Boeing 737-800 Flight 1117 from Las Vegas, preparing to land on runway 23

That moment when the tires touch the tarmac

Next time I'll use a tripod!

I'm learning flight photography the painful way

Trying to photograph anything in flight, isn't easy,
and I'm learning flight photography the painful way.

Got stung by one of these the other day, but I caught the wasp,
and released it back,
because the world needs them!

Cooking Jackfruit Seeds and Shrimp in a Coconut Curry

Wash dried jackfruit seeds and soak for a few hours in water.
This is to make it easy to remove the outer skin which is almost like plastic!

Fry until light brown, one large onion in a little coconut oil

While that's going on, cut the seeds into half, and remove the outer skin

I added a packet of Thai Green Curry paste that I bought from the Chinese store.
**I never use such pastes or buy readymade powdered spices - I always make my own, but in this case the paste has lemongrass and anchovy fish extract, both of which I don't have at home**

Add a little coconut milk to the mixture when it begins to stick to the pot

Add the seeds ...

Cook for a few minutes with the lid on, till the jackfruit seeds are soft, and well cooked.
Add the already cleaned and washed shrimp

Cover with the lid, and turn off the heat.
Leave the pot shut for about ten minutes.

This is what it will look like.

Enjoy with rice!

A view of Toronto from Mississauga

This is a view of the city of Toronto as seen from the city of Mississauga.
Don't miss the seagull above the CN Tower ☺
As the crow flies, that's about 25 kilometres away!
