Ladybird getting ready for takeoff

Once upon a time many autumns ago, while driving through the woods, we stopped the car by the side of the road to walk about.

A few minutes later a leaf landed on the hood of the car

And this beautiful ladybird stepped off the leaf, displayed her wings briefly, and took off ☺
