#Poetry Time Flies

Time Flies

As I write these lines, I take a moment to be still
And wonder if it’s true, when they say that time flies
But hey, when I look at the timelines, ‘tis time that’s still
And it’s probably I, who flies

For if a second were to be put into perspective
The transition of Caesium atoms, or the duration of periods of radiation
Would make no meaning in retrospective
To memories past or experiences at present, if you can still follow my narration
Of an era where time and memory are linked by energetic activity
‘Tis easy to remember a sequence of events in frames of reference
Or reminisce about circumstances of relativity or simultaneity
Like some distant moment in childhood, or whatever your preference

Beyond the fourth dimension, I ponder over the Alpha and the Omega of time
But before I run out of time and get ready to fly
Please allow me the time to finish my rhyme
For ‘tis not time that flies, but I
