Baby Sparrows in the Nest Box!

Built a nest box with wood from our fence

that fell in an Ontario storm several years ago

And the sparrows decided to call it home!
These baby sparrows were born a few days ago 😊

I've made several nest boxes over the years
Including one for a friend who asked for it.

Some nest boxes even had occupants that couldn't fly!
Like this squirrel.

And others came by just to inspect

But they all appreciated and used the nest boxes.
And that gives me joy
😄

Listening to the cardinal as it sings an evening tune

While gardening today,
heard the song of the cardinal.
It sang two different tunes!
There's no clear video of the cardinal since I took the video from a distance with my phone.

Robin landing for an afternoon drink

As I sat outside praying and pondering,
a Robin flew out of nowhere,
and joined me for a summer afternoon drink.
Me with my cup of tea,
And the Robin at the birdbath!

Pigeons in the Parking lot

Pigeons also need a place to park when it's -23 degrees C

A few hundred of them have taken up about 8 parking spots!

Watching Long-finned pilot whales in Nova Scotia

Long-finned pilot whales are actually oceanic dolphins

We saw these in the Gulf of St. Lawrence, North West of Pleasant Bay, off the Cabot Trail, Cape Breton Island, Nova Scotia

(Eyes on the water till the end, to see the whales) ☺

#Wildlife Raccoon carefully climbing down branches

Two raccoons were playing on the tree. One climbed down the proper way (along the trunk of the tree) and the second decided to take a shortcut ...

#Canada #Maple Leaf in the Snow

I stepped outside and found this beautiful maple leaf in the snow

So I paused from the busyness of the day, to take a picture, and think about my life in Canada!

#Henna Sometimes you have to wait for #art to dry before you can drive ... ☺

... unless you (my girls) want your steering covered in the same design

Did you know that this type of art has existed for over 6000 years?

I love it!

Have a great weekend friends!

Afternoon walk at Niagara

The awesomeness of Niagara falls never ceases to thrill me

This gull is after my sandwich

Here are some pictures of Niagara Falls on the American side

A trip through wine country is incomplete without stopping by to say hello and supporting a local farmer ...

So for cherries sake ...

Enjoy your summer!

#Gardening into the night

What a pleasant evening!

It's actually dark but this phone can take pretty good pictures in low light without a flash
