A data centre is a secure facility where data can be stored and accessed by the right people 24/7/365.
To be able to make this data available irrespective of disasters, politics, or any other causes, a data centre must be highly secure.
Security, availability and compliance are crucial when considering who is is going to store your mission-critical IT infrastructure and data. Most data centres provide these.
However, what differentiates a really secure data centre from the rest, is international law.
This was our third road trip to Atlantic Canada, and also the shortest, only 5300 kilometres.
(No road trip to Atlantic Canada is complete without including Newfoundland and Prince Edward Island and we didn't do either)
We drove thru Quebec into New Brunswick and Nova Scotia.
Did quite a bit of driving off the beaten track on unpaved roads this time
We discovered there are many ways to drive into lobster country
Walking on the ocean floor when the tide is down, here's a 360 degree view of The Bay of Fundy
You can bring your own bottle of wine, and sit out here enjoying a view of the ocean tides while eating lobster
And there's lobster everywhere!
This bridge is quite narrow.
(One of the advantages of having a small car)
Actually wish it was raining, in order to enjoy the sliding and splashing in the mud
(but no one else in the car had such thoughts) ☺
This photograph cannot justify the view of the Minas Basin at Parrsboro, but I did see two off-road bikers on this trail
Drove down to the waters edge to search for agate and amethyst, but the tide was approaching us at almost 4 inches a minute, and our family of rockhounders had to retreat!
Peggys Cove is so beautiful, my next painting will be a scene from here
Sunny, windy and peaceful. Loved the waves crashing onto the rocks with the sound of the bagpipes playing in the distance
Some of the narrow streets in Lunenburg are really steep, and if you don't use your handbrakes here, you might end up in the Atlantic Ocean
The Bluenose II is a replica of the legendary schooner Bluenose and this is it's hometown
Facing the harbour is this amazing restaurant called The Docksidewhere the food and the service is excellent! This in addition to the view of the harbour.
(Btw, Prince Charles, Tom Selleck and Johnny Depp have also been to this restaurant)
So I learnt from the lady who served us ☺
You may not get these wines in Ontario, they are Nova Scotian
(unless you visit us at home)
One of the shortest ferry rides we've done was the one across St. Ann's Bay on the English Town Ferry. (The shortest was the Bleriot Ferry in Alberta)
This is just one way to get onto the Cabot Trail
There are many places along the Cabot Trail where the view of the Atlantic Ocean is simply breathtaking
And if you want a guaranteed view of whales in the ocean, visit Guaranteed Whales and ask for Allison.
She and her family know exactly where the whales live! ☺
Watch this clip till the end to see Long-finned Pilot Whales
The Rusty Anchor is a nice place with an ocean view, if you want to eat seafood on The Cabot Trail
Noticed a lot more traffic and tourists on the Cabot Trail this time, compared to previous trips
I did a 12"x 16"oil painting in 2010 of this view. In case you haven't seen it, here it is below
