Oh, oh ... time to replace the right brake light bulb in the #Audi A3

Either the quality of the bulb ain't good or there must be some sort of electrical malfunction, because this is the second time I am replacing this bulb in the Audi A3 in five years. I've also  replaced the brake light bulbs in the Audi A4

After you open the hatch, inside the car adjacent to the light you'll find a plastic cover which you can lift open with a small screwdriver

Using a small screwdriver gently loosen the plastic bolt that holds the brake light assembly to the body of the car, and then remove the bolt with your fingers

This time I'm going to replace the fused bulb with a GE bulb. Let's see how they perform in comparison to Sylvania

Gently slide the brake light assembly off the body of the car

Gently remove the black plastic bolts shown below ...

... to separate the white portion of the assembly from the red
(Sorry the picture below is out of focus)

That's the fused bulb

Replace the bulb and put everything back in reverse order

Gently push the brake light assembly into the two circular slots on the body of the car without breaking anything

#Technology Who remembers the Sinclair ZX Spectrum personal computer?

Got this in 1982 from the UK

How exciting at the time, 16kB RAM, CPU capable of running at 3.5 MHz, rubber keyboard, video output was to a colour TV (or should I say television). Programs and games were stored and transferred from cassette tapes, and I even had a printer with thermal paper!

If you think this is a weird computer, just wait a few more years ...
... and you'll be laughing at today's technology

#Wildlife Bear in the Bow Valley

Several summers ago in the Canadian Rockies, we were slowly driving down the Bow Valley one morning looking for wildlife ...

... when suddenly my wife said "Stop! There's a bear"
We quickly backed up, and this is what we saw

It was turning rocks over probably searching for insects

Here is a short video ...

I wanted to step outside the car to take a better photograph, but my kids wouldn't allow me

"Daaad, you are not stepping out!!"

The faded portion at the bottom of the photograph (below) is the door of the car

Is the bear staring at me?

Here is a painting I did several weeks later on birch bark

#Blessings #Attitude #Gratitude Give a glass of water to someone, and you'll observe three kinds of people

Give a glass of water to someone, and you'll observe three kinds of people:

1. Those who are grateful that they have water
2. Those who complain that there is only half a glass of water
3. And those who are grateful for the glass, and the water

We sometimes forget the blessings in our lives and tend to focus on the problems instead. As for me, I am grateful for life, for everyone and everything HE has provided. After all, nothing belongs to me. HE owns everything!
