Hiking with friends and family at Mizzy Lake

This was probably our 6th hike to Mizzy Lake, so I took very few pictures this time.

Far away in the distance, a loon
And in the foreground, a family of wild ducks enjoying the summer day

Lovely ducklings!

While we stopped to have lunch, guess who else was thinking about lunch?

(Someday, I must get a 600 mm lens!)

More pictures of the Great Blue Heron here

Saw plenty of painted turtles

The highlight was watching this Moose and Calf reunite

Here's something I learnt from the Great Blue Heron

More interesting than my sandwich was how this Great Blue Heron got its lunch

On our hike at Mizzy Lake, we stopped briefly to have our lunch

But more interesting than my sandwich was how this Great Blue Heron got its lunch

Watched the heron as it patiently did some fishing

Lunchtime

I need to get a nature-related job that will pay me enough to buy a 600 mm zoom lens!
Anyone hiring?

Moose and calf at Mizzy Lake

Went for a 5 hour hike with friends and family today, and saw lots of wildlife at Mizzy Lake, Algonquin Provincial Park.

Circled below is a Moose!

The most interesting part was watching this Moose walk out of the lake and reunite with its young one ...

Thanks

I must remember, that no matter what the circumstances are, I must always ...
"Give thanks to the Lord, for he is good;
    his love endures forever"

Watching the colourful clouds at sunset as they quickly move to cool the evening on the first day of summer

Felt like 41 degrees C earlier today

Hike

Interested in hiking the Mizzy Lake Trail at Algonquin Provincial Park this weekend?
Please let me know

Here are some pictures from previous hikes

Yes that is a Moose!
We saw a family of three crossing the lake into the woods
