#Cooking a chicken curry with lots of star anise and garlic

With the frigid temperatures and so many people falling sick, I just had to cook a spicy curry ...

This time the only ingredients I've used are tomato, garlic, star anise, salt, vinegar, fennel seeds, Kashmiri chilly powder, cinnamon, and black cardamom.

I also added a few potatoes, after all, who doesn't love potatoes!

Btw, did you know that star anise is used to make the anti-flu drug Tamiflu?

Funny thing happened at the supermarket that made me smile :-)

It was freezing outside (felt like -26 degrees C) so I wore my ushanka and didn't take it off while in the store ...

... I approach a cashier to pay for my groceries (a new recruit, never seen her before)

Me to the cashier:"I'd also like a crossword please. You can select any one for me ..."

The cashier hands me the last available crossword and asks "Are you 18 and above?"

I smile and reply "Of course I am" ☺

Finished my first frame with broken birch branches

The birch tree branches that fell were too beautiful to throw away, 

so I decided to frame one of my paintings 

Measuring and sawing the branches to size ...

Actually the birch tree you see in the painting, 

is the one from which the branches fell during the ice storm

Hot air drying the frame before framing ...

And the air hostess actually made me a lime tea!

The Boeing 747 is still my favourite aircraft.

I think it's a classic, and I miss it in the Air Canada fleet.

The seascape below I did from imagination seventeen years ago (1997). I gifted it to someone, who left it in their loft for several years collecting dust, and then they gave it back to me. I revived it and it's now displayed in someone else's home (Reason why I don't gift paintings anymore) ☺
